Detail set for Airfix 1/144 Saturn V – Skylab kit (A11150).
120 parts (41 resin + 79 PE) + photo CD. A lot of spare parts, boh resin and PE, especially when the part is small or delicate.
This kit is meant to be used with the Airfix Saturn V Skylab kit and provides details for the payload shroud all the way down to the first stage engines. Resin parts include the F-1 engines with batted details on the exterior and smooth interiors. The other resin parts are solid with crisply molded details and a smooth surface finish. All resin parts are still attached to their pour plugs. Extra parts are provided for the more delicate bits. Extra parts (and some parts that aren’t used for Skylab) are also on the photoetched sheets. The CD-ROM contains 60 photos, most of the of Saturn V on display in Hunstville and Florida with many nice details, along with photos of the vehicle on the launch pad and under construction. The instructions are broken down into stages, with each stage showing where the details are to be added to the kit. Some surgery on the kit parts will be necessary for some of the details. You will also need to provide some bits of 0.5-0.7 mm diameter plastic rod for the final thrust structure detail.
